   Cindy Kirkpatrick

  I have a huge success story to share. I had just started tutoring  and one student had stayed with me from the beginning. She helped with starting online and working the bugs out. She was at about 3rd or 4th-grade reading level at the end of 6th grade. She had been put in a lower reading group with 7th and 8th graders. On a Friday, a few weeks into the new school year, I got a text from her telling me she scored at an 8th-grade reading level at school! HAPPY TEARS! HAPPY TEARS! I'm so overjoyed! I called her and said I was so proud of her, but I didn't want her to be done with me yet. She said she was not done with me yet. This is not to boast, but I'm very proud to be able to say I played a role in this young lady's life no matter how small; after all, she did all the hard work! Her confidence has grown, and she is a hard worker!  THIS IS WHY I LOVE TEACHING!! The more success stories I am a part of, the more pumped I get!

One of my memories was when we took a field trip to London in the classroom. She made it seem like we were really in London; we packed our own bags and brought some stuffed animals with us. She made an airplane aisle out of her classroom, so we used our imagination and thought we were in an actual plane. We would watch videos of London and have snacks while we were on the plane. We visited many parts of London; she taught me how to use my imagination during our field trip. I struggled with English during my time with her. She helped me to understand the English language; she taught me how to write a proper sentence."

Piper  Pam Youell McGowan "Hi, my name is Pam. I would like to tell you how much Cindy helped me with my granddaughter. I was homeschooling her in her kindergarten year, and her mom was homeschooling her bigger sister. Piper just wasn't getting some of her sounds. We were both getting frustrated, and I asked for help on Facebook through a homeschool group. It wasn't long before I heard from Cindy, and what a blessing she was. She and I talked together, and she was willing to set up a video meeting with Piper. After just one meeting, she helped her more than I could. She knew what her problem was right away and worked with her on it for about an hour. Piper was able to correct her problem because of Cindy. Piper is now in the 2nd grade and is reading at 3rd-grade 9th month and loves it. I am really so thankful for all the help Cindy was able to give her in just one meeting.       "Mrs. Kirkpatrick is an amazing teacher. I knew her as Miss Massie back in the day. :) She was my teacher for Pre-K and 1st - 4th grade. She was one of my absolute favorite teachers because she provided an encouraging and loving environment for her students, and she always made learning fun. I remember learning multiplication in her class by listening to a tape that rapped the multiplication tables. It sounds silly, but it made it fun and helped me remember them. We earned paper ice cream scoops for each number we learned our multiplication tables for (numbers 1 - 12) which we got to present on a bulletin board for the whole class to see. Once we learned them all, we got to have an ice cream party! This is just one example of how Mrs. Kirkpatrick keeps her students engaged by making learning fun. I learned so much in her class because she made going to school enjoyable. Mrs. Kirkpatrick really is an awesome teacher!"

     "Sitting and thinking of the progress my daughter has made in her reading while tutoring with Cindy, and decided I should write a review.  First, I would like to start off by saying how skeptical I was. In her ad, she stated her price, and it was less than everyone I had contacted. They were way out of my price range of what I could afford. I thought, well she mustn't be any good. Also, she stated what grade levels she taught. I thought to myself, my daughter is well past the grades she teaches. I decided not to call. When I came across the ad again, I decided to give it a try in hopes that Cindy would accept my daughter. To my surprise she did. After getting the ball rolling I wanted to give up because of the drive, it was way out of our way, but we hung in there. Cindy soon offered us online tutoring that I didn't think would be as effective as face-to-face. I was wrong. We have been tutoring with Cindy since the summer of 2016. My daughter has come a long way. I used to be embarrassed when we were out, and she couldn't pronounce things on a menu. She also would read and never stop at punctuation marks, and she sounded like a robot.  Not anymore. She is much, much better. Her teachers have even noticed the difference. Although we still have quite a ways to go, my daughter has come a long way. I would, and have recommended Cindy to every parent I know that has a child having difficulties with reading. Cindy is a true blessing."

I have two children, a daughter & a son. They were attending Kansas City Public School. My daughter was doing well in school, but my son couldn’t read. I was very concerned about that, so I discussed this issue with his teacher, and she said it was normal for him not to read in 3rd grade.
